Double fucking rainbow people..

Today was such a perfect day.
I say that there wasn't anything in particular that made it super great,
I mean, in a way, like i didn't win the lottery or anything.
it was just all a filing of a sequence of events that made me smile.
It was great!
Today on the way to work,
it was a cold day.
A very cold day for vancouver.
But a sunny day.
After a few days of dreary,
i'm walking to work and i happen to look up to see,
my beautiful mountains all fresh and crisp,
dusted with snow.
It looks amazing.
It made me smile.
It put a chuckle in my throat,
and a spring into my step.
I begin to think about all the seasons.
The days when you can't even see the mountains at all,
to the days when you look up and suddenly they're full of luscious green
or white.
What a beautiful city i live in.
Then after a day of work...
a night of play.
Full of music,
and friends
and tons of laughter,
that always,
ALWAYS,
fills my soul.
I feel lucky.
Very lucky and full of life
and smiles all around.
Thank you.
Double Fucking rainbow people...
Double Fucking rainbow......

local art
Today i went to a craft show called the Make it Vancouver.
It featured many cool and interesting items from local artists,
from jewelry, art, clothing,
pretty much a good variety and range of things.
I like going to stuff like that,
seeing new things and what people are creating.
I also like to support the local artists.
if i were to buy something, it's nice to know it original and it's going to the little guy.
At the show there were two in particular tables i did enjoy their work very much.
Lala Terrariums.
She arranged intriguing looking succulent plants in very cool interesting glass containers.
They were very well done
The other Artist that grabbed my attention was
Patrick Markle.
He is a local artist, that from my perspective, is very influenced by Lawren Harris.
Who is my favourite of the Group of Seven,
and maybe perhaps that is why i his work so much.
Like Harris, his paintings carry the same fluidity of brush strokes, the use of blue tones and the mountain landscapes.
Here's a few of his pieces

Dear Hotmail...oh how i hate you and let me count those ways
Dear Hotmail,
I hate you.
I hate because you let some stupid virus leak into my address book and now i'm looting everyone i know with ads on Viagra and money making schemes.
Ah, a world fueled on sex and money.
I hate you because i have no idea how to stop it.
Everyday, there is someone new that has received yet another email from me.
It seems to not stop at just one ad.
Everyday there's more.
I find it frustrating and embarassing that i don't know how to stop it!
ARgh!
GRrrr!
Oh hotmail. how i hate you.
I know it's not completely your fault.
You, yourself did not write this ridiculous virus...
or did you?
I need to hate some one for this, therefore i hate you.
I know we've been together for so long.
You were my first.
Oh geez, looking back.
We were, just babies, weren't we?
I just don't know what to do anymore.
I think i just have to say it..
Hotmail... i think i want to break up.
I hate you.

loving electric
Aaaaahhhh
something about playing on stage.
It's like an electrical storm.
it's like being in love..
everything, all of it.
all wrapped up into that twenty five minutes.
all the chaotic excitement
the nervousness,
the electric high,
that just makes you want to giggle
and smile so hard
it just makes you want to smile even bigger...
whew!!
damn that was good.
I would image some would say...
ahhh give me a smoke.
ggrr...
eeerrrrrrr.
but i don't smoke, so....
i say..
give me a hug and a high five
yeah baby, that's what i'm talking about
can't wait until next time!!

making band practice with just your..iphone?
So i've just recently come into knowledge of this application for your iphone.
i don't have an iphone.
I know, so uncool..
well i guess i always knew that there were a few applications like this out there.
but i guess what i'm trying to say is that i didn't realize how crazy good they are.
technology advancements and electronics, it amazes me sometimes...
although, i'm still waiting for my hover skateboard, like in back to the future II
and well, teleportation of course.
be anywhere, in an instant.
I say. Awesome.
Funnily enough, i'd probably still always be five minutes late.
But anyways i digress.
Back to this instrument/ guitar application on iphone.
there are people that seem to be able to play them pretty well.
they sound pretty fricking good, for a fake, computerized instrument.
AND on your fricking phone none the less!
Holy crap!
It makes me want to go out there and build a band, solely playing with phone apps.
I guess, if i had an iphone.
and maybe knew at least 3 other people that had one too....
and, yeah well....
Haha, how funny would that be?
I know it's kinda already been done, thus the video posted (below)
but , wow, crazy hilariousness
The world and where it's going...i guess.
Geez louise
My mind was just frickin' blown!
Well kinda, sorta, maybe...
just a little bit, totally.
but not that much.
But still kinda funny.

The Rural Alberta Advantage
i saw these guys open for City and Colour back in feb 2010
and i enjoyed them so much, i've become a big fan.
I've just recently saw them play at the Biltmore on saturday night
and they were truly wonderful.
There are three of them.
They were full of energy and a vibrant life force for ears.
I loved that fact that the lead guy and the girl played a couple different instruments.
It kept it interesting to watch.
There were two keyboards, a variety of percussion instruments, shakers,
the girl also occasionally played a low tom and a glockenspiel
the drummer is quiet good as well.
I do enjoy his drumming style.
I was inspired and impressed that three people could produce such passionate full rich music.
it was great to watch.
Great Canadian band.
Check them out if you like
